ROOFING

METAL ROOFING

Metal is the long answer to a hail-and-wind climate. Higher upfront cost, decades of service life, and far fewer conversations with your carrier along the way.

We install standing seam and exposed-fastener systems on residential, agricultural, and commercial buildings across North Texas.

STANDING SEAM VERSUS EXPOSED FASTENER

Standing seam hides its fasteners under the seam, so there are no exposed gaskets to dry out. It handles thermal movement well and is the right system for a house you intend to keep. Exposed-fastener panels cost less and go up faster, which makes them the practical choice for barns, shops, and outbuildings — with the understanding that fasteners need attention every several years.

HAIL, DENTS, AND WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS

Metal can cosmetically dent in a severe hail event without losing function, and some carriers offer cosmetic-damage waivers that affect premium. Thicker gauge and textured finishes hide impact better. What matters functionally is the panel and seam remaining watertight, and on a properly installed standing seam roof they generally do.

DETAILS THAT DECIDE THE ROOF

WHERE METAL ROOFS FAIL, WHEN THEY FAIL

  • Penetration flashing and pipe boots
  • Valley and transition detailing
  • Panel clip spacing and thermal movement allowance
  • Underlayment selection under hot panels
  • Trim, closure, and eave detailing against wind uplift

ONE CALL HANDLES THE WHOLE LOSS

A loss rarely stays in one category. These are the pieces most often attached to this one — same company, same file, same schedule.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Is a metal roof louder in the rain?
Over solid decking and underlayment, no meaningfully. The noise reputation comes from panels installed over open purlins on barns.
Will a metal roof lower my energy bills?
Reflective finishes reduce cooling load, which is a real if modest benefit in a North Texas summer. Ventilation and attic insulation still matter more.
